Junior Club
The junior club accepts members usually from the age of 8 but has occasionally taken juniors just before their 8th birthday. The minimum distance we usually shoot is 20 yards and so it is more about the ability of the individual to concentrate for an hour, respond to instruction and have the strength to shoot 20 yards. If your child is approaching 8 then it is often best to book a taster session and let them check it out to see how they feel about archery.
The club has members ranging from 8 to 18 years and the numbers continue to grow.
We have junior coaching sessions on a Saturday morning and another shooting session on in the summer on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. In the winter (1st October - 31st March) we also shoot indoors on a Friday evening at Nicholas Chamberlaine school in Bedworth. Outside of those days there are still other opportunities to shoot but these are by arrangement.
The club members shoot against each other, against teams within the club and against the seniors and disability club and also at both fun and more serious competitions.
Juniors shoot a distance relevant to their age so the younger ones are at shorter distances whilst the older ones are encouraged to shoot longer distances appropriate to their age.
We have coaches that spend most of their time working with juniors, both at the club and a local school running their after school club. The emphasis for the juniors is enjoyment and fun. Safety of course remains paramount and all shooting is controlled very strictly by the rules of shooting but the junior sessions are planned to give each archer help, assistance and guidance so that they get the most out of their shooting.
Like all junior clubs we are very keen to ensure that all our work with the juniors is very much linked to our own safeguarding policy as well as that of our governing body Archery GB.

So if you are already shooting and looking for a new club, or wanting to start out then please contact us for further details.
For further details about courses please see the ‘Beginners’ page
If still not sure about whether it is for you then please use this link to arrange a 'taster' session. These last for about 40 minutes and will give you a brief introduction, allow you to shoot and give you some details of what to expect on a course. The cost of the taster session is £10, but if you go on to book a beginners course then the course fee will be reduced by £5.
